Lesson Fees: Lesson rates are determined by Hometown Rhythms and each instructor based on the length of the lesson, the market rate for similar instruction based on the instrument, the education and experience of the teacher, and the level of instruction desired. Rates are shown for each instrument/teacher on their respective pages.
Registration Fee: There is a one-time $20.00 non-refundable registration fee that helps cover administrative expenses and serves to reserve a time slot on the studio calendar. Registration is not complete until payment has been received. Payment can be made online via credit/debit card or in-store by cash/check/card.
Payment: Fees for lessons are due to Hometown Rhythms at the beginning of each month for all the lessons in that month. If the tuition is not paid before the day of the second (2nd) lesson of the month, lessons are discontinued until payments are made current. Teachers will be notified that payment has not been made and will not be present to teach. Tuition may be paid by check, cash or credit card. Returned checks will be charged a $30 NSF fee.
Lesson Attendance & Conduct: By agreeing to participate in private lessons at Hometown Rhythms, you are agreeing to ensure that the student arrives at each lesson on time. Any student arriving late for a lesson will be taught only for the remaining minutes of their allotted lesson time, so as not to run into the time slot of the following student. If the lesson is the final one for the teacher on that day, the teacher will wait 10 minutes on the student before leaving. You will still be charged and no further make up given for that lesson. Tuition pays for the reservation of a weekly lesson slot, not just the actual instruction that happens during that time. Hometown Rhythms, its employees and contractors are not liable for any medical situation that may occur while at Hometown Rhythms.
Missed Lesson Policy: Should the need arise to cancel a lesson, the student/parent agrees to contact the teacher at least 24 hours prior to the start of the lesson through the online student portal and email system, or forfeit that weeks lesson with no makeup.
Inclement Weather: If Barrow County Schools are closed due to inclement weather, we will NOT have lessons on that day. An effort may be made by the teacher and student to schedule a makeup should time and studio space permit. If the weather worsens during the day and lessons are going to be canceled, the teacher or Hometown Rhythms office will make every effort to get in touch with you. You will not be called if Barrow County Schools are closed.
Cancellation/Withdrawal: Notice must be given within the first seven (7) days of the current month if a student plans to not return the following or any subsequent months. You are still responsible for paying lessons for the current month. If there are any refunds owed to you, they will be sent after 30 days. Written notice may be dropped off at Hometown Rhythms or mailed to Hometown Rhythms, 11 East Athens St, Winder, GA 30680. A confirmation of cancellation will be provided. If you do not receive a cancellation confirmation, please resubmit your notice.
Recitals: We encourage each student to participate in his or her teacher’s recitals. This gives the student a feeling of accomplishment and the opportunity to perform in front of several students and teachers. See your teacher for additional information.
Studio and Teacher Evaluations: While we encourage feedback at any time regarding our services, you will be provided periodic opportunities for formal feedback in the form of a Student/Parent Satisfaction Survey. We encourage you to take the opportunity to provide any positive feedback or to constructively address areas of concern.
Registration: Once you have reviewed these policies, go to the music lesson registration page to register for lessons.
