Emily Nix

Emily Nix

Emily is a promising, young music educator and the recipient of the 2016 Georgia Music Educator’s Association Scholarship, given to only two Music Education students in the state of Georgia. She is currently finishing her Bachelor of Music Education from Young Harris College and is student teaching in the area. At Young Harris, Emily was involved in the YHC Concert Choir as well as the audition only Chamber Choir, Mountain Community Chorus, and YHC Piano Ensemble. Over the summer, she is honored to work with many musically gifted children as a counselor and Waterfront Director at Interlochen Arts Camp in Interlochen, Michigan.

Emily has been giving private piano lessons and voice lessons since 2014. She aims to teach all of her students how to read and communicate music effectively, whether they sing, play keyboard or play ukulele. All students will focus on note names, terms, rhythms, interpretation, and, most importantly, having fun doing what they love.

Emily currently offers piano, voice and ukulele lessons at Hometown Rhythms on Wednesday afternoons. She could possibly add some lessons on Saturdays if needed. If you would like to request lessons with Emily, please submit a request and we will contact you to schedule lessons.

Hometown Rhythms exists to serve the music and arts community. We do that through lessons, classes and camps, as well as offering a coffee shop gathering place. Stop by and let us serve you.
