Donita Hogsed


Donita has an Associate of Music Degree from North Greenville University and a Bachelor of Music Education from Furman University. While attending North Greenville University she won the talent contest of the Miss North Greenville pageant for solo vocal performance.


After graduation, Donita worked in childcare and as a teacher, including becoming a certified Montessori teacher through Country Brook Montessori in Norcross, Georgia. She served a number of years as the Children’s Choir Director at Oak Hill Baptist Church in Lawrenceville. She has also served as a teacher for elementary age Bible classes and as a Praise Team singer for Sunday services.


Donita has been teaching private piano and voice lessons since 1988. She has taught a wide variety of ages and skill levels and specializes in beginner piano and voice. Keyboard students learn the correct fingerings of the keys, note names of keys, musical terms, and performance skills. She has been teaching private piano lesson through the Summit Academy Homeschool program in Loganville, Lawrenceville, and Buford since 2012.



Hometown Rhythms exists to serve the music and arts community. We do that through lessons, classes and camps, as well as offering a coffee shop gathering place. Stop by and let us serve you.
