I’ve been playing guitar for 16 years and have taught lessons for 7 years. My biggest focus on guitar has been modern era rock, praise and worship, and pop, but I can play and teach just about any genre of music – rock, metal, pop, acoustic, folk, and bluegrass – as well as many styles and techniques including strumming, finger picking, flat picking, tapping, sweep picking, to name a few. My biggest influences on guitar have been Kirk Hammett, The Edge, Matt Belamy, and a variety of friends and acquaintances I’ve played with over the years. We can learn anything you want, but I will at the very least teach the basics of reading sheet music and tablature, as well as basic music theory in addition to the songs we will learn. I will also teach proper right- and left-hand technique, posture, tuning, and basic guitar maintenance.
